The most important ministry we exercise as baptized Christians is our regular participation in the Sunday Eucharist. Our Common Prayer is important because it not only strengthens our connection with God but also supports and encourages one another.

Our worship depends on a number of special ministries. To participate, Please call the contact person.

An acolyte in processionAcolytes
Acolytes assist the clergy during the Sunday services and on Major Holy Days. Any youth, sixth grade or older are welcome to participate. Acolytes are trained for their duties and expected to attend occasional meetings, rehearsals and refresher training sessions.

Altar Bread
At the 10:45 a.m. Eucharist, the altar bread is baked by parishioners, who also act as obligation bearers, bringing the bread and wine to the altar at the Preparation of the Table. Recipes and directions are provided.

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild assists in preparing for services by laying out vestments, linens and vessels used in worship. The Guild also cleans and cares for these items and prepares the sanctuary for services. Members are divided into teams which serve one Sunday a month and prepare for that Sunday the preceding Saturday morning. The Altar Guild meets seasonally for fellowship, education and planning. Training is provided for new members.

Choir
The choir sings at the 10:45 a.m. Eucharist on Sundays and at special services throughout the year. They rehearse Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and warm up Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Membership is subject to approval of the Music Director and new members are needed and welcomed. It is helpful, but not essential to be able to read music. It is recognized that choir members' schedules may not always permit attendance at rehearsals and services.

Home Communion Ministry
The Home Communion Ministers are a group licensed by the Bishop to take Holy Communion from one of the Sunday Eucharists to shut-ins. The licensed ministers are accompanied by members of the congregation at large. In this way our home-bound are included in the Eucharistic fellowship. Home Communion Ministers must be nominated by the Rector and approved by the Vestry. They are trained and scheduled to serve approximately once a month.

Hosts at 9:00 a.m. Parish Eucharist
At the 9:00 a.m. Parish Eucharist there are two hosts or host families each week. They prepare the altar bread, greet people as they arrive for the service, secure persons to act as lectors and intercessors, help prepare the altar and assist in the sacristy after the service. Those who regularly attend the 9:00 a.m. service are asked to act as hosts on a rotating schedule. Newcomers are matched with experienced hosts. Instructions and training are provided.
